About ACA

ACA is the most well known and respected independent performing arts training facility in Australia. Established in 1987, ACA is housed in a century old heritage-listed church in Surry Hills, Sydney, offering a unique environment for a wide-range of courses, classes, performances and special industry events.

Through The Journey, our full-time acting career program at an Advanced Diploma level with pathways to a B.A., our premier part-time acting program The Power of Performance, as well as our introACTive short courses and drop-in classes, you will find up-to-date acting techniques, practical skill development and a like-minded staff who care deeply about the art and craft of acting. Founder Dean Carey says, “I wanted to establish a vital, modern, dynamic culture, in which Australian and international teachers could work, thrive, and share their expertise and artistic contribution”.

ACA caters for all who have an interest in the performing arts and who long for a dedicated, personalised and passionate environment in which to learn, grow and develop. The entertainment industry is an exciting one, where you can make a significant investment in your gifts, abilities and personal development.
