Last year, Susan Batson, one of the USA’s top acting coaches and mentor to Nicole Kidman joined Dean Carey onstage for a night full of insight and inspiration. Join Emmy award winning director Gale Edwards, and eminent film/theatre and TV director George Ogilvie as they reveal the passion and craft that created amazing shows from Les Miserables to The Boy From Oz, Mad Max to The Dismissal. Join international Shakespeare, West End and Broadway director for her only Masterclass in Australia in 2008. Gale’s focus will be on:
• Spatial and physical dynamics
• Action/objective work
• Interpreting text, and
• Bringing language to life.
This will be done through scene work (given out on Friday evening) and a short monologue that will need to be prepared prior to the workshop. Following on from ACA's involvement with FOX 8's AUSTRALIA'S NEXT TOP MODEL, Channel 7's hit series MAKE ME A SUPERMODEL enlisted the help of ACA's Creative Director for one of the their recent episodes. Dean was invited to lead a 2 hour acting Masterclass for the models. Dean's focus was to help the contestants lose their sense of self-consciousness whilst teaching them some basic acting skills, encouraging them to step into a place of interacting and connection.
