This years’ movement work explores the universal theme of ‘love’. Through physical response the students have explored their own stories, images and experiences of love to create this piece of theatre. It pays homage to the love letter and how words of love define us.

ACA GRADUATE SHOWCASE 2009 AT ACA THEATRE

ACA’s 2009 Graduates present their final performance at ACA. The Showcase is a selection of contemporary scenes and monologues chosen to ‘showcase’ each student’s individual talent and skills acquired during their intensive 2.5-year training. Come and support them in this celebratory performance before they are presented to Australia’s Performing Arts Industry. Make sure you book early; with only 5 public performances this show is sure to sell out.

SPECIAL EVENT – SYDNEY’S LORD MAYOR ATTENDS REALITY BYTES

On Friday, June 5 - 2009, ACA welcomed Sydney's Lord Mayor, Clover Moore, to a final bravura performance of the graduating company’s 2008 production of REALITY BYTES. ACA welcomed 90 guests, including representatives from 35 organisations dedicated to social reform, to view this unique theatrical medium and its possible application to the organisations and their sphere of influence. A Graduate touring company of REALITY BYTES is set to launch in 2010. We thank all those organisations represented that showed such enthusiasm and commitment to the cause of providing a theatrical voice to communities and their relevant issues.

FREE ACTING WORKSHOP

Actors Centre Australia is offering a free acting workshop as an introduction to the Power of Performance. This 2-hour interactive performance workshop is a great opportunity to work with ACA Creative Director Dean Carey and discover more about this groundbreaking, flexible, part-time program. The Power of Performance is designed to provoke, nurture and celebrate our creativity. It is a transformational experience for each participant, releasing and challenging your imagination, instinct and purpose onstage, as well as building confidence and clarity in delivering presentations that embody vision, integrity and authenticity.
